OUR STORY

Here at Latinas for Education, we’re committed to investing our expertise and resources to our Latina community. Since 2015 I have been supporting young Latinas to believe in themselves to become more than what society expects. Supporting Latinas in providing the right resources to help them be successful in their higher education journey.
Latinas for Education campaign started when I faced a struggle while being enrolled in a graduate program. My husband lost his job in the middle of the Covid pandemic and did not qualify for unemployment. I was faced with the decision to pay for the mortgage or my graduate program. I searched for resources, scholarships, grants but the resources were limited. I was not a graduating senior or a current college student; I was a working mother of three with 9 years out of school. I didn't qualify for any scholarships. This is why I created Latinas for Education because I notice the lack of support and resources Latinas face in our community. 
I share my passion with my community because I believe we can make a difference in raising awareness of the importance of higher education and encouraging agencies and companies to invest in education for Latinas.
